Rebecca L. Kolsky has over a decade of Family Law experience and has consistently been named a Super Lawyer’s “Rising Star” in the practice of Family Law - an honor bestowed on only two-and-a-half percent of Pennsylvania attorneys each year.
Rebecca practices law in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with a emphasis in the areas of Family Law and Personal Injury, In her Family Law practice, Rebecca focuses on complex issues surrounding divorce, custody, support, domestic violence, division of property, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and alimony. While in her Personal Injury practice, Rebecca concentrates primarily on car accidents and slip and falls.
Rebecca is known for being a fearless and passionate advocate for her clients. As a child of divorced parents herself, Rebecca is keenly aware of the effect that a divorce or separation can have - not only on the parties themselves but on their children, as well. Rebecca attempts to minimize the impact of divorce and/or separation on her clients and their families through carefully thought out planning and strategizing, on a case-by-case basis.
Rebecca has been praised by her clients for truly understanding what they and their families are going through, walking them through the process hand-in-hand, and not just treating them as a business transaction.
As a parent, Rebecca understands that each child has different wants and needs and how even a minor change in a child's routine can impact each child differently. With each custody case she handles, Rebecca attempts to put herself in the children's shoes, carefully learning the ins and outs of each case and most importantly, the specific needs of each child and family. Empathizing with the child(ren) - who ironically, often get "lost in the mix" of these proceedings, allows Ms. Kolsky to prioritize and verbalize to the Court what is in the best interests of the child(ren).
After completing law school, Rebecca obtained her Masters of Law Degree (LL.M.) in Trial Advocacy from the James Beasley Temple University School of Law - one of the top three Trial Advocacy programs in the country.
In addition to her full-time employment, Rebecca has been an Emergency Protection from Abuse Hearing Master in Philadelphia since 2011.
Rebecca predominantly handles cases in Philadelphia, Montgomery, Delaware and Bucks Counties, as well as South Jersey.
