Philadelphia residents going through a marital separation may become especially attuned to stories in the media related to divorce. Stories involving celebrity divorces, for example, may begin to stick out to divorcing spouses, when they may have overlooked such stories before. Though celebrity divorces often involve high amounts of money and assets -- amounts that some Philadelphia residents may not be able to relate to -- the core of these divorces is often the same as everyone else's divorce. Child custody and child support disputes, property division battles and other core divorce components play a part in many celebrity divorces just as with anyone else.
Philadelphia residents may know Ralphie May from the television series The Fat Husband. They may also remember that Mr. May had been married to Lahna Turner, a fellow comedian. The two had a podcast together called Perfect 10. According to reports, the couple recently separated, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was filed in another state. Based on one of Turner's tweets, it would appear as though the couple is separating on amicable terms.
Reports say the couple are determining how to split custody of their two children, a 6-year-old son and an 8-year-old daughter. Turner is seeking joint legal custody and sole physical custody of the children. She is also seeking spousal support.
Divorce proceedings can often be emotional affairs, especially when children are involved. Oftentimes, divorcing spouses may have differing ideas as to what constitutes the best interests of the child in relation to child custody. When in a child custody dispute, it can be helpful to have an attorney guiding a divorced spouse through this process. With a successful legal strategy, divorcing spouses can fight for what is best for their children.
